Elephants and Egrets - Botswana
When we found this young male elephant in the grasslands by himself, the camera shutters were popping. Then much to our surprise.....nine cattle egrets popped up out of no where as this big boy started to wade through his lush afternoon buffet.
Catlle egrets and elephants have a symbiotic relationship as many creatures in Africa do. As the elephants moves through grass it stirs up the insects which provide the egrets a lunch of their own. Copyright © 2006, Wild Earth Illuminations, All Rights Reserved.
